
Movement of the underground Metro was not affected by the explosion of a home-made bomb in the vicinity of Gamal Abdel Nasser Metro station, the spokesman for the Metro told MENA Tuesday.
Train movement was not disrupted by the blast, Ahmed Abdel-Hadi said.
Entrance of the station, near to the scene of the explosion was closed as a precautionary measure, Abdel-Hadi said.
An explosion hit a square in downtown Cairo on Tuesday, leaving 12 people injured.
According to the source, the explosive experts were dispatched to Al Isaaf Square near Gamal Abdel Nasser Metro station where the blast took place.
