
World leaders and heads of governments left here on Friday after attending the funeral of late Saudi King Abdullah ben Abdel Aziz.
Middle East leaders offered their condolences to Saudi Arabia’s ruling family on the death of King Abdullah, who passed away early Friday.
The funeral was attended by Egyptian Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab, Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah al Ahmed al Jaber al Sabah, Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad, Omani Deputy Prime Minister Fahd bin Mahmoud al Saeed, Bahraini King Hamad bin Issa al Khalifa and Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
Sudanese and Turkish presidents Omar al Bashir and Recep Tayyip Erdogan also took part in the ceremony.
King Abdullah ascended the throne in 2005. Following his death, his brother Salman has been declared ad Saudi King and Prince Muqrin became Crown Prince.
