
The Syrian army on Sunday staged massive operations against militants' positions and concentration centers throughout the country. Scores of militants killed in central area Syrian army units thwarted an attempt of militant groups to attack residents of Abu al-Alaya village in al-Mokharram in Homs countryside and destroyed their dens and gatherings in the central provinces of Homs and Hama. A military source said that army units killed forty militants, injured many others and destroyed a weapon and ammunition cache, in addition to four machinegun-equipped cars in the Eastern countryside of Hama. The source pointed out that big numbers of militants, who attempted to attack Abu al-Alaya village in Jub al-Jarrah area in the Eastern countryside of Homs Province, were killed and militants' machinegun and different sorts of weapons were destroyed. The source clarified that army units destroyed militants' gatherings in Bab Hood and al-Waar neighborhoods in the city of Homs, in addition to other dens in the towns of Talbisa, al-Moshajjar al-janoubi, al-Soultaniyeh, Khadmalo, Salam Gharbi and Khattab, killing many of the militants and injuring others.
