The government has spared no effort to confront illegal immigration, Minister of Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Magdy el Agaty said on Sunday.
Speaking at a press conference, Agaty said the government has established a coordination committee for confronting illegal immigration and prepared a bill on that score a year and a half ago.
Agaty expected the bill to be discussed by the House of Representatives at the beginning of its second session that will start on October 4.
He further offered condolences to the families of victims of the illegal migration boat that capsized Wednesday off the Mediterranean port city of Rosetta in Behira.
The government deals with illegal immigration as an issue of national security, he added.
