Lebanon and Palestine will join the Agadir Agreement, after the trade ministers of Agadir Agreement countries, which include Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco and Jordan, declared their approval, said Trade and Industry Minister Tarek Qabil Sunday.
This came during the third meeting of the trade ministers of Agadir Agreement countries with the participation of the ministers of trade and the ambassadors of Tunisia, Morocco and Jordan in Egypt.
The meeting is of special importance, especially that it is held after six years of holding the trade ministers' meeting in Rabat in 2010, said Qabil.
He, meanwhile, said that it is important to evaluate and assess the agreement, which started its implementation in 2007.
The current circumstances in the Arab region require formulating activities and programs through the technical unit of Agadir Agreement in cooperation with the member states and the European partner, he went on to say.
The Agadir Agreement aims at establishing a free trade area between Morocco, Tunisia, Jordan and Egypt, as part of the Euro-Mediterranean free trade area
