
The GCC Standardization Organization (GSO) held its 23rd meeting here today, chaired by Qatar's Minister of Municipality and Environment HE Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Rumaihi.
Addressing the meeting, HE the Minister praised the prominent role played by the GCC Standardization Organization (GSO, and the advanced and sophisticated stages it had reached in various fields of standardization, including the GCC technical regulations, standards and systems conformance and quality laboratories, and international relations and others.
He referred in this respect to the initiatives of the technical body that serves the consumer and maintain the health, safety and security of the GCC community, and promote the Customs Union and the GCC Common Market .
He expressed hope that the meeting would come out with decisions that have positive impact in raising the level of awareness among all stakeholders in the GCC States of the importance of standards and the system of quality and conformity, in an effort to achieve the aspirations of all of the successes that would enable them to have access to global markets.
HE the Minister of Municipal and the Environment extended thanks to the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the warm reception and hospitality, he also thanked Nabil bin Amin Mulla, Secretary General of the GCC Standardization Organization (GSO for the good organization of the meeting, which comes in conjunction with the meetings of the GCC committees of trade cooperation and industrial cooperation.
The meeting was attended by the ministers concerned, and members of the GSO Board of Directors.
