International Cooperation Minister Sahar Nasr asserted on Sunday that Upper Egypt governorates, especially Qena and Sohag, will see a major economic development during the coming months following the World Bank’s decision to provide 500,000 million dollars to fund and modernize industrial zones and infrastructure in Upper Egyptian governorates.
This comes within the framework of the government’s program to achieve development nationwide, Nasr said during a visit to Qena.
During her inspection tour around technical schools in the governorate, Nasr added that the ministry is poised to announce a number of important projects for development, pointing to strenuous efforts exerted by the ministry along with development partners to empower youths and upgrade their skills.
Small and medium-sized projects are one of the best possible ways to make a great leap in rural communities, which in turn help reduce unemployment rates and provide real job opportunities, according to Nasr.
