
The Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour is closely monitoring the activities of the public benefit societies to make sure they play a positive role for the development of the Kuwaiti society, Minister Hind Al-Sabeeh has said.
During a cabinet meeting on Monday, Minister Sabeeh reviewed the procedures taken by the Ministry to face any form of deviation from the targets of the public benefit societies as defined by law, as well as their basic system and purposes according to which they were granted licenses. She said that some of these societies have been closed down after they committed violations.
The cabinet weekly meeting was held today at Seif Palace under chairmanship of His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.
During the meeting, the cabinet reviewed the speech by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on the occasion of the last ten days of the Holy Muslim fasting month of Ramadan in which he urged the international community to stop the Israeli aggression on Gaza, and called the Kuwaiti people, especially the youth, to work harder for their country's future.
The Cabinet has approved a draft decree to revoke the citizenship of Ahmad Kathem Afet Al-Shemmeri, and another decree to withdraw the citizenship of Saad Hashr Ayed Al-Barghash, Abdullah Hashr Ayed Al-Barghash, Nasser Hashr Ayed Al-Barghash, Noura Hashr Ayed Al-Barghash.
The move has been taken as per Repeated Article 21 of the Law on Kuwaiti Citizenship No 15/1959.
The cabinet was also notified of the decree by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah commissioning His Highness the Prime Minister to lead the Kuwaiti delegation to the 69th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, and deliver the country's speech on behalf of His Highness the Amir.
By the same token, the cabinet was informed of His Highness the Amir's decree commissioning His Highness the Prime Minister to attend the celebration by the giant auto maker Daimler in Germany on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the successful partnership between the company and the Kuwait Investment Authority.
The cabinet also reviewed the massage sent to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah from Iran's president Hassan Rouhani on the tragic humanitarian conditions in Gaza and the importance of assisting the Palestinian people against the Israeli aggressive practices.
It also reviewed the message by Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Djoomart Otorbaev, to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, inviting him to visit Kyrgyzstan.
On the Arab scene, the cabinet listened to a detailed account by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah on the results of his participation in a recent emergency meeting of Arab Foreign Ministers which discussed developments in the Gaza Strip.
Today's meeting also discussed the political scene in light of reports on the overall political developments, on both Arab and international levels.
