Kuwaiti embassies and diplomatic missions worldwide are continuing celebrations of Kuwait's 53rd National Day, the 23rd anniversary of Liberation Day and the Eighth anniversary of His Highness the Amir's ascending to the top leadership post. Sameeh Johar Hayat, the Kuwaiti Ambassador to the United Mexican States, whose mission organized a broad reception on the occasions, addressed congratulations to His Highness the Amir, His Highness the Crown Prince and His Highness the Prime Minister, on behalf of the staff, wishing Kuwait ever-lasting security, stability and prosperity. "Celebrating our national eids constitute an opportunity to educate the Mexicans about most landmark manifestations of Kuwait's renaissance and development," the ambassador said in a statement, alluding to rapid development in various sectors under the sagacious leadership of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. As to the Kuwaiti-Mexican ties, Ambassador Hayat said, "These relations are currently passing through some of the best phases due to the continuing and clear instructions by leaderships of the two countries and their desire to cement these relations in various spheres." He alluded to tangible outcomes of reciprocal visits by Mexican and Kuwaiti officials, signaling out the investment accord "which is a qualitative and major step in the development of the bilateral economic, commercial and investment relations." More reciprocal visits are planned and the Mexican foreign minister will visit Kuwait early in March, he revealed. In South Korea, Ambassador Jassem Al-Bedaiwi held an identical reception and congratulated the top leaders on the dear occasions. He stated that large turn-up of Korean officials and dignitaries at the gathering reflected their keenness on the ties with the State of Kuwait. Kuwait's sales of crude oil to South Korea are estimated at 400,000 barrels per day, he said, noting that the South Koreans had expressed desire to enhance health and educational cooperation with Kuwait. Korean delegations will visit the country later this year for this purpose.
