Morsi, Meshaal discuss Palestinian developments

President Mohammad Morsi and head of Hamas political bureau Khaled Mashal discussed here late Monday recent Palestinian developments and efforts to unite Palestinians under a coalition government. A statement by the Egyptian Presidency office said that Morsi called on Palestinians to unite in order to reinforce their stance in the Mideast peace process. He affirmed that Egypt would support Palestinians on their quest for an independent state. On his part, Mashal lauded the Egyptian efforts to achieve reconciliation among Palestinians, adding that Cairo was always with the Palestinian people's right for dignity and independence.
