Independent member of parliament Amin Massoud has submitted an urgent question to the minister of manpower and immigration on the incident of assaulting an Egyptian national at the hands of his employer in Kuwait.
Addressing the parliament session, Massoud said the incident has shocked all Egyptians upon seeing the footage on social networks, urging the government to defend the dignity of the assaulted citizen in view of recent similar incidents.
He also called on Arab countries to cancel the system of Kafeel (a system to monitor migrant workers applied in the Gulf countries) and apply laws which respect the dignity of any Egyptian working on its territories.
He also praised efforts of the Kuwaiti authorities which have taken an action regarding the case and arrested the perpetrators
