Court of Cassation, under Judge Anwar al Jabri, heard on Thursday the defense team's arguments concerning a challenge filed by the public prosecution against the acquittal verdicts of former president Honsi Mubarak, his sons Alaa and Gamal, along with former interior minister Habib el Adly, his six aides and fugitive businessman Hussein Salim.
They are charged with involvement in the killing of peaceful protesters during the January 25th revolution and in some corruption cases.
Mubarak's lawyer, Farid El Deeb, called for rejecting the appeal filled by the public prosecution against the defendants' acquittal verdicts.
This trial is considered the last trial in a set of trials concerning this case that started on August 3, 2011; the verdict of the court of cassation will be a final verdict in which it can not be appealed again ever.
