Egypt's Mufti Shawqy Allam praised on Tuesday a statement issued by al Azhar to refute claims fanned by the Islamic political groups about Egypt's rulers.
In a statement, Allam announced his support for Azhar statement, denying false news carried by the terrorist groups.
He further urged supporting Egypt in its bid to face terrorist acts, currently hitting the region.
In their statement earlier in the day, Azhar scholars stressed that the current rulers of Egypt did not kill anybody.
The killers had fooled protesters into staging armed rallies against the army, police and people, the scholars said in a statement issued in response to remarks by terrorist organizations.
It was the people who took to the streets to press for toppling a regime that had failed to run Egypt, the statement said.
