
Mufti of Lebanon Sheikh Abdel Latif Derian lauded on Thursday the pioneering role of Egypt under the wise leadership of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and its honest efforts in defending the Arab and Islamic world.
Derian, during a meeting with Awqaf Minister Mohamed Mokhtar Gumaa, urged all honest people to stand by Egypt in its war against terrorism.
He also urged backing calls by Grand Imam of Al Azhar Sheikh Ahmed Tayyeb to renew religious discourse to cope up with the current changes.
Gumaa, on his part, underlined the importance of enhancing inter-Arab cooperation to face challenges besetting the Arab world now.
He added that he lately discussed with the Awqaf ministers of Jordan, Kuwait and Lebanon holding a periodical meeting of all Arab Awqaf ministers to fight terrorist doctrine.
He also suggested having a unified Arab sermon during Friday prayers as a first step on the road of bolstering Arab cooperation against terrorism.
