Egyptian navy forces on Friday rescued 35 nationals on board a fishing boat that sank north of the Red Sea due to a technical failure.
The rescue operation came 48 hours after a migrant boat capsized off the Mediterranean port city of Rosetta in Beheira, leaving more than 160 people dead.
The operations center of the Armed Forces received information that a fishing boat had its engines broken down and sank 15 nautical miles away from Raas Ghareb Port in Zaytiya area, north of the Red Sea.
The General Command of the Armed Forces ordered the dispatch of a navy unit to rescue the sinking boat.
Navy forces managed to rescue the crew members and the fishermen and towed the boat to Sharm el Sheikh Port.
