Egypt's International Cooperation Minister Sahar Nasr said Sunday a meeting of the World Bank Group and the Islamic Development Bank will be held in Amman Monday to establish a new fund for the Arab region.
In statements before leaving for Amman to take part in the meeting, the minister added that the fund aims to help countries affected by political or economic instability such as Libya, Syria and Yemen, along with countries that host refugees from those countries.
Egypt is home to five million refugees, the minister said.
Countries affected by wars, coups or receiving refugees such as Egypt will receive a portion of this portfolio, she added.
