The New Suez Canal is the hope of the region amid challenges it currently faces, the Sudanese ambassador in Kuwait has said.
Mohieldin Salem told MENA correspondent that he congratulates the Egyptian people and himself on the inauguration of the New Suez Canal, which he described as an achievement of not only Egypt, but the whole Arab world.
He said Arab leaders should take the New Suez Canal as an example of mega projects that meet aspirations of peoples and thus deserve acclaim.
World countries have a moral responsibility to protect this achievement, the diplomat added.
"We need to support development and construction efforts to achieve peace and security in the region and world," Salem said.
