
The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) has participated in a workshop on reproductive rights, held in Amman, Jordan.
The workshop was organized by the United Nations Population Fund and the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Middle East and North Africa.
NIHR Board of Commissioners member Dr. Hameed Hussain presented a work paper on the establishment of many hospitals and medical centers in Bahrain equipped with the latest medical technology, and the progress of the free health services provided for citizens during the prosperous era of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
He elaborated that obstetric and gynecological clinics are available at all medical centers to serve pregnant women, premarital blood tests and family counseling. He pointed out the NIHR role in protecting and promoting the right to health.
