Holding the 27th Arab summit in Nouakchott is certainly a historic event for Mauritania as it is the first time that the Arab summit would be held in this African nation, said the speaker of the Arab parliament on Sunday.
In press statements after his arrival at Nouakchott airport, Ahmed ben Mohamed Jarwan said the Arab parliament is confident in Mauritania's ability to hold a successful summit.
He added that the Arab parliament will utilize all its potentials to render the summit a success.
Mauritania will take over the presidency of the 27th Arab summit from Egypt tomorrow.
