
Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Iyad Ameen Madani has condemned the killing of at least fifty-six people and the destruction of Churches on 29th June 2014 following attacks on at least four villages near Chibok in the north eastern Nigeria by a terrorist group, SPA state news agency reported Tuesday.
The Secretary General, who expressed his sadness over the continuing acts of violence by the terrorist group, conveyed his condolences to the families of the victims and urged the authorities to step up their efforts to combat the menace.
He also called on them to identify the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
The OIC Chief reiterated the position of the OIC denouncing terrorism and extremism in all forms and manifestations and restated the solidarity of the organization with Nigeria in this trying period.
