The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) is ready to offer Tunisia all the support it needs to make the transition into a well-governed country, said an OIC official on Thursday.
In a message sent by OIC Secretary General Iyad Madani to the newly elected Tunisian President Mohamed Beji Caid Essebsi, the former expressed the organization's wish that Tunisia would continue supporting the joint Islamic work among Muslim countries for the benefit of all.
Madani also wished in his message that the president would do well in his elected position as he faces numerous challenges in his country, which Madani described as one "that has set the pace in the region in pursuing noticeable political action and in seeking to build a society based on public institutions and the rule of law."
