The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) called Thursday on the Syrian opposition parties to make use of a meeting of the Syrian opposition leaders, to be hosted by Saudi Arabia in the coming days, to agree on an action plan and consensus platform representing a unified stance of all opposition factions.
Iyad Madani, OIC secretary general, urged in a statement the Syrian opposition leaders to close ranks and to make the Syrian people's legitimate demands of change, reforms and rebuilding the state institutions on bases of democracy, justice and national unity main goals of the course of the political settlement in the framework of Geneva I conference.
He reiterated the OIC's readiness to support all international and regional efforts aiming at reaching a political solution to the Syrian crisis and ending the suffering of the people.
