The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Iyad bin Ameen Madani warned of the dangerous escalations witnessed by Yemen.
He noted that the Houthis adoption of the military choice and refusal of international and regional efforts calling for supporting the comprehensive national dialogue will lead to a civil war which will have critical repercussions on the Arab country and the whole region.
In a statement issued by the OIC on Monday, Madani urged the Yemeni parties to place their country's interests above all political considerations.
The Houthis aim at threatening the constitutional legitimacy represented by the Yemeni President Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi is rejected as it will lead to more chaos and further intensify the political and security crisis.
The OIC chief called on the Yemeni parties, especially the Houthis, to respect the decisions of the United Nations Security Council and the initiative of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
