
Oman has affirmed full solidarity with Egypt in coping with difficult challenges currently facing the Arab region and threatening its national security, spokesman for the Egyptian Foreign Ministry Ahmed Abu Zaid said in a statement Monday, following a meeting between Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and personal representative of Omani Sultan Sayyid Asa'ad bin Tariq al al Said.
During the meeting, al Said affirmed his country's special appreciation for Cairo-Muscat relations extended over long years.
During the meeting, Shoukry praised the wise policy of Omani Sultan Qaboos Bin Said in supporting and enhancing peace and stability efforts at the Arab and international levels.
The two officials also discussed meanas of enhancing relations between the two brotherly countries to serve the joint interests of the Omani and Egyptian brotherly peoples, as well as other issues of common concern.
