The Orthodox church rejected calls for protests outside the Cathedral in Abbasia on Sept 9.
The call was launched by Coptic activists in protest against failure to resolve their personal status problems.
Bishop Anba Raphael, the secretary of the Synod, said in a statement that such issues cannot be resolved through clashes and demonstrations, warning that some persons would use the protests to ignite acts of riot.
He pointed out that Pope Tawadros II was exerting strenuous efforts to promote the Church's social work through resolutions taken by committees which study the social problems of the Christians.
Anba Raphael appealed to the Copts who have social problems to apply to the public relations committee at the Synod for tackling the problems in line with the Holy Book.
