
Kuwait Minister of Justice and Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Yaaqoub Al-Sane' announced that the prayers of Eid Al-Fitr will not be held at open areas this year due to security considerations.
"In response to a request from the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs made this decision out of keenness on the safety of worshipers," the minister said in a statement carried by Kuwait's official news agency KUNA.
"Instead, the Eid prayers will he observed at mosques," he affirmed, commending the preparations being made by the various departments of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and the Ministry of Interior to ensure the convenience of worshipers particularly at the last ten days of Ramadan.
