Palestinian Awqaf Minister Sheikh Yousef Adeis denounced on Sunday storming of Al Aqsa mosque by the Israeli occupation forces to secure settlers' break-ins to celebrate what they call the anniversary of the destruction of Solomon's Temple.
In a statement, Adeis described the Israeli attack on Jerusalemites and guards of the mosque as barbaric.
Also, he said the Israeli troops have violated the sanctity of the mosque by throwing stun grenades and rubber bullets at AL Quds worshipers.
He called on the Israeli forces to prevent their settlers from assaulting the mosque.
The Awqaf minister urged Muslim preachers to pay great attention to the daily Israeli violations and assaults and put and end to these practices that might have severe repercussions at the Palestinian, Arab and Islamic levels.
He appealed to the international communities, tasked with protecting the religious and cultural places, to take action to guard the holy mosque.
Scores of Palestinian worshipers were injured in the clashes erupted in the early morning hours on Sunday after the Israeli troops have broken into the precincts of Al Aqsa Mosque from Bab El Maghareba, EL Silsila and Hetta gates.
