
The Palestinian Embassy in Cairo held a reception on Sunday to mark the 67th anniversary of the Nakba, the 1948 Palestinian exodus.
The occasion, held at the theater of Ministry of Youth and Sports, was attended by a galaxy of ambassadors, members of the Arab and foreign diplomatic corps, representatives Egyptian political powers, a number of media men, members of the Palestinian community and popular organizations as well as Palestinian students residing here.
Palestinian Ambassador to Egypt Jamal Al Shobaki thanked Egypt for its supportive stance to the Palestinian cause, wishing Egyptians more progress and stability.
He asserted that the Palestinian leadership and the international community are endeavoring to stop the Israeli practices against the Palestinian people and end the Israeli occupation.
For his part, Assistant Secretary General for Palestine Affairs Mohamed Sobeih stressed that the Arab League (AL) is backing all Palestinian attempts to obtain its all legitimate rights, calling for providing the Palestinians with all required assistance and support in the current period.
