Palestine's ICC membership 'key step'

Arab Parliament Speaker Ahmed al Jarwan hailed Palestine's official membership of International Criminal Court (ICC) as a key step that would help pursue Israelis for war crimes.
In a statement on Wednesday, Jarwan said joining the ICC is very important for the Palestinian struggle against the Israeli occupation.
He added that the ICC membership opens the door to war crime indictments against Israeli officials.
The Palestinians moved to join The Hague-based court on January 2, in a process that was finalized on Wednesday, setting the scene for potential legal action.
