Head of the Palestinian unified delegation for negotiations on a truce in Gaza Azzam Al-Ahmad on Sunday held consultations with the Egyptian intelligence officials seeking an agreement for permanent and comprehensive ceasefire in Gaza.
Al-Ahmad, a member of the Central Committee of Fatah, described the meeting as "significant", and said that all the members of the delegation would have another meeting with the Egyptian side later this evening to receive the Israeli reply to the Palestinian demands.
He also expressed hope that an agreement would be concluded over the coming hours.
Any agreement has to meet the Palestinian demands, topped with halting Israeli aggression, lifting the siege on Gaza and launching a reconstruction process in the Strip.
