The Palestinian Foreign Ministry welcomed the statements of French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius pertaining to the intention of his country to recognize the Palestinian state if the French efforts exerted to hold an international conference to end the Israeli occupation and achieve peace failed.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the Palestinian Foreign Ministry said that Palestine will be active and sincere in dealing with the French partners and the international community including the Americans, the Europeans and the Arabs to guarantee the success of the international conference on peace.
It called Israel to actively participate in the conference so that the fair peace can be attained.
The ministry hailed France's keenness on achieving the two-state solution and peace via the efforts it will exert to hold the conference.
It also reiterated that it is time for the Palestinians to achieve their legitimate rights and establish their country.
