Palestinian Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah called on the international community with all of its institutions to exercise pressure on Israel so as to stop the blockade imposed on Gaza Strip since eight years.
The premier's remark came during his meeting with Palestinian Parliament Member and Head of the Popular Committee Against the Siege Jamal al Khodary on Saturday.
Hamdallah underlined that the siege contradicts with the international pacts, hinders the entry of goods from and to the enclave and obstruct the government's efforts of reconstruction.
The prime minister was posted by al Khodary about the steps taken by the committee to halt the blockade, according to a statement issued by the Palestinian cabinet.
Hamdallah briefed al Khodary about the latest developments of reconstructing the strip, the statement read, noting that cabinet intensifies its efforts and contacts to provide the funds needed for housing projects.
