Palestinian Prime Minister Rami al-Hamdallah on Monday called for more aid from donor countries to the Gaza Strip.
The Gaza Strip and its 1.8 million population need urgent humanitarian aid following the destruction caused by a 50-day Israeli military offensive that ended on Aug. 26, Hamadallah told a forum on Palestinian development in Ramallah.
He called on the donors to honor their pledges and put pressure on Israel to allow construction materials into the Gaza Strip.
"The priority for the Palestinian government is to offer a full support and aid to the Gaza Strip in spite of the economic challenges the government is facing," said Hamdallah.
The forum was attended by ambassadors and consuls of donor countries as well as representatives from the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund.
