Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has praised June 30 revolution, in which the Egyptian people managed to get rid of darkness.
Abbas' remark was made during a ceremony held at the Egyptian embassy in Palestine to mark the 63rd anniversary of July 23 revolution.
June 30 revolution is “a true miracle”, otherwise Arab and Islamic nations would have been "in the wind", Abbas said.
“We congratulate Egypt on President Abdel Fattah El Sisi who announced a year ago that he will inaugurate the New Suez Canal. This means that the people are able to do miracles,” he noted.
Abbas said he will attend the inauguration of the New Suez Canal project.
The Palestinian president voiced support for Egypt in fighting against terrorism, hoping that Egypt could eliminate terrorism in Sinai and other provinces nationwide.
He praised a role played by the Egyptian people in supporting the Palestinian cause.
