
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas lauded the efforts of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in supporting the Palestinian issue. He praised Bahrain’s development projects for the Palestinian people, adding that the Palestinians cherish with pride and appreciation Bahrain’s pioneering role and honourable stances in supporting their just cause.
He was speaking as he visited the Royal Charity Organisation (RCO) building in Seef District where he was welcomed by RCO Board of Trustees Chairman Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Deputy Chairman Shaikh Adnan bin Abdullah Al Qattan and Secretary General Dr. Mustafa Al Sayed.
He commended the efforts of RCO in promoting charity and humanitarian work and helping the needy and affected people in disaster-stricken countries.
Shaikh Nasser welcomed the Palestinian President, hailing his visit to RCO building and reiterating Bahrain’s unflinching support to the Palestinian people. He praised the resistance of the Palestinian people against the Israeli occupation and briefed the Palestinian President on the national drive conducted by Bahrain National Committee for the Support of the Palestinian People in Gaza, in line with the directives of HM the King.
He underscored RCO resolve to provide aid consignments for the Palestinian people as soon as possible and carry out new development projects in Palestine.
On his part, the RCO Secretary General gave a briefing on the organisation’s history, affiliates and activities, stressing the royal support to its charity and humanitarian programmes. He also outlined the organisation’s contributions to supporting the Palestinian people through various health, educational and cultural projects.
