Palestinian Religious Endowments Minister Youssef Adeis slammed the decision of the Israeli occupation forces to close al Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron city, located southern the West Bank.
The mosque was closed before the Muslim worshipers, while the Israeli jewish settlers were allowed to enter it on the pretext of the 1st of September Jewish feast.
In a press statement issued on Monday, Adeis stressed that al Ibrahimi Mosque is totally Muslim, adding that closing it is rejected.
It is not the first time for the mosque to be closed, the minister underlined, noting that the Israeli forces aim at dominating and turning it to a Jewish temple.
Adeis called on the international community to exercise pressure on Israel so as to stop violations practiced against Islamic sanctity in Palestine.
