A panel formed to listen to testimonies of MP Kamal Ahmed recommended banning him from attending House of Representatives sessions until September, after he threw his shoe at recently-dismissed lawmaker Tawfik Okasha.
Kamal hurled his shoe on Okasha February 28 inside the parliament to express his anger over Okasha’s meeting with the Israeli ambassador in Cairo.
The panel's report, obtained by MENA, said that the MP violated the parliament's regulation and used violence inside the parliament by hurling another MP with a shoe.
Okasha was also expelled from the 596-seat legislature, after a vote Wednesday by an overwhelming majority of lawmakers.
