
House of Representatives Arab affairs committee, led by Saad el Gamal, asserted the importance of Egyptian-Gulf relations and Egypt’s keenness to face all sorts of intervention and threats.
During a meeting on Sunday, the committee stressed that Egypt supports Yemen’s stability and unity as well as the importance of reaching a political solution for the Yemeni crisis.
Egypt is keen on combating terrorism and extremism, el Gamal said, adding that the committee is coordinating with Gulf joint committees especially after international oil prices fall.
Meanwhile, Foreign Ministry’s Minister Plenipotentiary Hazem Hanafy said that Egypt’s membership in the United Nations Security Council contributes to supporting political process in Yemen and combating terrorism.
