Out of the Interior Ministry's keenness to provide all needed facilities for citizens to participate in 2014 parliamentary and municipal elections, the Nationality, Passport and Residence Affairs (NPRA) announced on Wednesday that the Passport Office in the NPRA’s headquarters in Manama will be opened on Friday November 21 and Saturday November 22 from 8 am to 8 pm.
Besides the routine work of the Passport Directorate of issuing, replacing and handing over ready passports, the department will issue election cards for citizens whose passports are lost, damaged or kept at an official authority. (Concerned citizens are requested to show an evidence for that.)
NPRA reminds voters to carry their passports with them for voting even if they are expired as they are eligible to vote as long as their smartcards are valid.
