
Member of the executive committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) Hanan Ashrawy called Sunday on the South African government to expand a solidarity movement with the Palestinians and support boycotting the Israeli occupation in all the African states and the world.
Ashrawy also called for supporting the Palestinians in face of the Israelis and playing an effective political role in the peace making process.
This came during Ashrawy's reception of a senior delegation from South Africa.
The meeting took up means to boost bilateral ties and cooperation mechanisms between both countries.
Ashrawy lauded the bilateral ties between Palestine and South Africa.
She also apprised the delegation of the latest political developments in Palestine along with the Israeli violations to the international and humanitarian laws.
As well, she tackled the national reconciliation and the importance to lift the Israeli siege imposed on the Gaza Strip and reconstruct the enclave.
