
Prime Minister Sherif Ismail presided over a cabinet meeting on Sunday to discuss ways of expanding the cultivation of strategic crops.
The meeting was attended by the ministers of agriculture and supply as well as representatives of concerned authorities, Cabinet Spokesman Ashraf Sultan said on Sunday.
The meeting also reviewed the government’s plan to expand cultivating wheat in the new season in order to reach 3.5 million feddans.
They also discussed preparing a plan to enhance and expand cultivating cotton to reach 280,000 feddans.
The expansion of cultivating maize, pulses and other crops was also discussed in the meeting, Sultan further said.
