
Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab presided over a meeting Sunday to review security measures for the ceremony on the inauguration of the New Suez Canal.
The meeting, also attended by the ministers of transportation and the interior, as well as senior army and security officials, went over procedures to start a project on the development of the eastern Port Said port.
During the meeting, Mahlab was posted on the procedures of the Ministry of the Interior, and other concerned authorities, regarding the inaugural ceremony of the New Suez Canal.
The prime minister highlighted the importance of the security system, also with regard to all development projects in the Suez Canal area.
The project on the development of the Suez Canal area will start immediately and positively affect the whole region, Mahlab affirmed, noting that residents of the three Suez Canal provinces would benefit directly from any projects in the area.
