Policeman injured, fugitive killed during raid of criminal hotbed in Sharqia

A policeman was wounded and a fugitive was killed during a raid carried out by police forces against a criminal hotbed in Sharqia's Menia el Qameh.

In a statement issued by the Interior Ministry on Monday, an official in the security media center said that an expanded security campaign was launched in the framework of the security efforts exerted to eliminate hotbeds and hunt down wanted criminals.

The campaign targeted hotbeds in Kafr Saad in Menia el Qameh, he noted.

When the security forces arrived the region, the criminal elements opened fire at them leaving a police personnel injured.

The troops opened fire back at the criminals, leaving dead one element, who was among fugitives from fled from Abu Zabel Prison during the January 25th Revolution.
