Pope Tawadros in Azhar Sheikhdom to offer greetings on Eidul Adha

Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of St. Mark Diocese visited on Wednesday the Azhar Sheikhdom to offer greetings on Eidul Adha.

Azhar Sheikh Ahmed Tayyeb, Grand Mufti Shawqky Allam and Awqaf Minister Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa received the pope and his accompanying delegation.

They expressed that tourism in Egypt would flourish in view of its cultural and economic perspectives.

Tayyeb called for holding a conference comprising Azhar and eastern churches.

The pope welcomed the step that would contribute to promoting relations among people.

Pope Tawadros urged taking serious steps to forge a powerful mechanism between the Azhar, church and intellectuals to disseminate the noble humanitarian values in the Egyptian society.
