The population growth rate in Egypt is five-fold higher than developed countries, according to a released statement by the Arab Union for Human Resources Development.
Union Director General Ayman el Gindy said on Tuesday that the Egyptian government is handling the outcome of the over-population problem but not outlining radical solutions to it.
He added that this rate is even six times higher than the rate in China. The population growth rate in Egypt hit 2.7 percent at a time when it stands at 0.6 in China, he noted.
This state of affairs in Egypt requires action by the Egyptian government to stand up to it as it swallows up all development fruits, he pointed out.
