Port Said Criminal Court adjourned to May 23 the trial of the Muslim Brotherhood supreme guide and 188 other members on charges of inciting violence in the Canal City in August 2013.
The postponement decision was taken to hear the testimony of the defense team.
Among those standing trial with Badie are Mohamed el Beltagi, Akram el Shaer, Safwat Hegazi, Ahmed Tawfiq Saleh el Holani and Gamal Ebeid.
They are accused of killing five and attempting to kill 70 more in the incidents that followed the crackdown on MB protest camps in Cairo.
The Brotherhood members are allegedly implicated in an armed attack on El Arab Police Station in Port Said, where they smuggled prisoners and stole weapons.
