Port Said Criminal Court has adjourned until Sunday the retrial of 11 defendants accused of killing 72 football fans in February 2012 in Port Said Stadium.
The case, referred to in the media as the “Port Said Massacre”, was delayed to hear the defense team's arguments.
Some 72 people were killed and 254 others wounded when football hooligans attacked Al Ahly fans during a match between Al Masry of Port Said and Al Ahly in February 2012.
The same court sentenced on March 9, 2013, some 21 defendants to death and issued harsh imprisonment sentences against scores others, but there was a decision to retry them.
