President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika has received Sunday in Algiers the leader of the Tunisian party Ennahda, Rached El Ghanouchi.
The audience took place in presence of the Speaker of the People's National Assembly (Lower House of Parliament), Mohamed Larbi Ould Khelifa, Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal and the Minister of State, Principle Private Secretary to the Presidency of the Republic, Ahmed Ouyahia.
In a statement to the press at the end of the audience, El Ghanouchi said that "it was an opportunity to discuss with President Bouteflika the situation in our region and the challenges related to the foreign interventions and their consequences on the entire region."
He also said that he exchanged views with the President of the Republic and listened to his advice on issues relation to the current situation in the Middle East and the Maghreb, particularly in Libya.
The two sides agreed that the solution to the political and security crisis in the region should be based on the "principle of consultation and dialogue between its children, he said, adding that the foreign intervention constitutes a problem and not a solution.
El Ghanouchi underlined that "the solution lies in national dialogue between the different political trends."
