
President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi on Thursday awarded Saudi ambassador to Yemen Ali al-Hamdan the Unity Medal in recognition of the efforts he has made during his tenure in Yemen. During his meeting with al-Hamdan, whose tenure in Yemen has expired, the President expressed his appreciation of the ambassador's efforts has contributed to strengthening the bonds of fraternal relations between the two countries. He praised the role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has played during the Yemen's crisis in 2011 until reaching the political settlement based on the Gulf initiative signed in Riyadh under the patronage of the Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz. The Saudi ambassador said that the Kingdom's support to Yemen during the 2011 crisis was a duty and reflected the deep-rooted relations tie the two countries.
