President Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi said that he will not compromise on the need for Houthis to leave Amran and hand over weapons they seized.
During his visit to the Military College on Sunday, President Hadi delivered a speech before students of the Military College about the latest developments in the country, as well as the required role the military personnel must play to help the country face the current crises according to the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference (NDC), which formed the major reference to build a new federal Yemen.
"We can clearly describe what occurred in Amran province as an unacceptable and unreasonable act that targets the state and its security apparatus, military forces, and its civil institutions. It doesn't target a specific side and brigade, however, it targets the political process and the transitional phase and the NDC outcomes,'' Hadi said.
He added, "Unfortunately, some understood our wisdom and patience in dealing with the problem in Amran and other areas as a kind of weakness and foregoing of responsibility and tried to make use of our willingness to end the conflict in a peaceful manner."
It is clear that some powers seek to impede the political process completely, he said. "We are today willing to implement the NDC's outcomes and build the state. From now on, the state will not let this conflict continue," he said.
President Hadi said that Houthis and other armed groups must leave with their weapons and give up the weapons they had seized. He also called Houthis to hand over bodies and release prisoners.
